FAQ:

How to print large A0 format posters?

Answer:

  1. Create your poster in OpenOffice version 1.1.x or higher
  2. Export your poster to PDF. Make sure to use at least printer quality or better press quality. You can chose between screen, printer or press quality in the export dialog. (todo: screenshot)
  3. Caution: this operation might last a while, especially if you are using lots of transparency. So better start that before you go home to have the thing done next morning. Even worse OpenOffice blocks your X for no obvious reason (have to check that on later versions of X and OpenOffice).
  4. If you happily exported your PDF phone Dieter Jessen (2584) at KOGS to inform him about your next step ...
  5. Send him an email (jessen@informatik.uni-hamburg.de) attaching your PDF file.
  6. Wait for Dieter to contact you back when he's ready.

Note, that PDF files can get seriously large depending on the quality, i.e. an A0 poster in press quality is ca. 3.2MB.
