Much of our communicational activity is not just devoted to transmitting information, but to creating and maintaining interpersonal relationships. The question is how IRC and MUD and possibly other media affect the social functions of language.
Focussing on the Creation of Social Membership (`we-ness'), this topic will be prepared and presented to us by
