Analysis and optimization of a neural architecture for visual object recognition

We encounter Driver Assistance Systems in everyday life. They are integrated in various ways into the means of transportation we use as support to the person steering the vehicle. Well-known representatives are ABS (Antiblockiersystem), Tempomat or parking aids. This talk deals with a DAS developed at the Institut für Neuroinformatik at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Within the framework of a car-detection system, it can be shown, how such a DAS can be improved with the help of various machine learning and digital image processing techniques.
