Semantic Web aims at bringing substantial improvement to search engines. The first step in this direction is to organize and structure data using RDF or Topic Maps. In this way, the information we are looking for on the Internet could be used not only by people but also by computers.
The purpose of this thesis is to compare and evaluate RDF and Topic Maps. For this purpose a particular scenario was chosen (touristic information) and demo semantic web tools were used.
The RDF and Topic Map modeling was done using Protege tool, and for browsing them I used the Omnigator Eight.
The comparison was based on tutorials and on the observation made after modelling and navigating the corpus.
In this talk I will describe the RDF and Topic Maps modelling for this particular application and finally I will compare the two methods.
