Description

A German tourist is interested in visiting Romania. He has seen a couple of pictures of the Atheneum, Carpathian, and the s before but he doesn't know much more about the East europe and romania. He would like to learn something about romanian culture and visit interesting places but also to do some sport, although he does not know what can he practice in Romania. How to reconcile these wishes and dreams in line with his budget?

To learn more about Romania and optimize his trip, she uses MTP - a multilingual web-based tourism planning system - that allow him to express questions about places of interest (represented as images on the user interface). The system first starts with a couple of well-known images and Web-links and offers the possibility to ask questions in English about these images (that restrict the domain). Answers to questions are generated from a textual knowledge base that contains the relevant information in Romanian and are then translated into German. Each answer consists of a piece of text and a set of web-links and/or new images that allow him to ask further questions about a (more specific) topic.
