Traffic and public transportation

Public transportation is convenient and reliable in Hamburg. Don't try to go by car from your hotel to the conference venue, because 1. the conference is located in the hotel area near Dammtor station; from most hotels in a walking distance. 2. there is nearly no parking around the university. Even if you are lodging somewhere in the suburbs, the HVV is faster than the car. You may change lines between subway, S-Bahn (urban train) and busses, even some boats. One ticket for € 2,50 covers the whole city within 2 hours.

Hamburg Grossbereich = is the zone where the 2,50 Euro ticket and most part of the cards mentioned above are valid. On a plan you will identify this through a grey ring. It covers all important places where you will want to visit .
