All,
As the extraction area coordinator for TIDES, I need to collect some
information for Charles Wayne.
There are tentative plans to hold a TIDES/ACE extraction evaluation late
summer or early fall. We need your feedback.
The purpose of this note is a straw poll regarding your interest in
participating. The proposal is to use the ACE/TIDES standard for
extraction in the following parallel tracks:
* English EDT
* English RDC
* Arabic EDT
* Chinese EDT
Please vote by indicating in which, if any, of those four tracks you
would
like to participate, given the funding realities that you face in 2003.
Also, if you feel strongly that you need to have
* an RDC evaluation in Arabic and/or Chinese
* an evaluation on speech input/OCR input on any of those languages,
best to indicate that now. There is no guarantee that there is the
wherewithal to have an evaluation on RDC in Chinese or Arabic, or on
speech.
Please respond by March 6.
Sincerely,
Ralph
