Abstract:

This paper deals with standards in natural language processing in the field of speech recognition as well as in Language analysis and nl systems engineering. The paper consists of some definitions and reviews shortly the areas of standardization in NLP. In its second parts some important standards and standard organizations are introduced. A short overview of the standards applied in the project Verbmobil is attached at the end of the paper.
