"Putting together the Parts: Complex Artificial Intelligence Systems. In: Proceedings of Eighth Ireland Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI-97) Londonderry 1997 Volume 2. pp.1 - 6."

Abstract:

In this paper we try to strengthen attempts for combining intelligent (sub-)systems to systems of higher order. For many years AI has now developed partial models of intelligent behaviour in various versions and scenarios. We should try now to put together some of the parts and to learn more about the interdependency of modules in our mind and about our cognitive architecture. Most architectures of complex AI systems are only efficient software constructions to combine sequential modules without claiming for an overall cognitive model.
