Application for a new NatsWikiWeb

Take a look at all NatsWikiWebs first, to get an idea of what webs already exist, and to prevent naming clashes when you apply for a new web of your own. Sorry that the text below is in english. Um ein Projekt über unser NatsWiki abzuwickeln, musst du mir nur folgende Informationen geben und dann richte ich einen Unterbereich ein.

Name des Projektes in Kurzform

Beispiele

SRA, CxG?, Papa, SemanticWeb04, ...

Es wird ein Web (unterbereich im NatsWiki) mit diesem Namen angelegt. Es wird eine Gruppe (z.b. SRAGroup, CxGGroup, PapaGroup, SemanticWebGroup) angelegt, über die Zugriffsrechte auf die Projektseiten geregelt werden können (siehe unten).

Beschreibung/Slogan des Projektes

Beispiele

• Natural Language Systems, Faculty of Informatics, University of Hamburg
• Studienreformausschuss, Universität Hamburg
• Construction Grammar in Germany
• Partial Parsing with Weighted Constraints
• Proseminar "Benutzungsintuition und Transparenz im Semantic Web ", Wintersemester 2003/2004

Eintrag in die Hauptnavigation

Was soll in die Navigation des NatsWikis eingetragen werden?

Beispiele:

• LUSE
• Verarbeitung Gesprochener Sprache
• Construction Grammar
• Semantic Web

Dies kann also entweder der Projekt-Kurzname oder eine abgespeckte Version des WebSlogans sein.

Administrator bzw. Kontaktperson

Dieser trägt neue Mitglieder in die Projektgruppe ein und hat schreibzugriffsrechte auf die WebPreferences. Der Projekt-Administrator muss ein registrierter NatsWiki-User sein.

Zugriffsrechte auf die Projektseiten

Beispiele:

• public read, registered write (weltweit lesbar, nur registrierte NatsWiki-Benutzer dürfen schreiben)
• public read, group write (welt lesbar, nur Mitglieder der mit dem Projekt assoziierten Gruppe dürfen schreiben
• registered read, registered write (nur registrierte NatsWiki-Benutzer dürfen lesen und schreiben)
• group read, group write (nur Gruppenmitglieder dürfen lesen und schreiben)

Ablaufdatum

Wann soll das Projekt-Web "geschlossen" werden, d.h. es wird der Eintrag aus der Hauptnavigation entfernt und der Schreibzugriff entzogen. Das Projekt-Web ist allerdings weiterhin über die SiteMap zu erreichen.

Indizierung

Falls das Projekt-Web weltweit lesbar ist, soll Google die Inhalte des Projekt-Webs indizieren?

Steps to add a new NatsWikiWeb

This is the more technical answer for NatsWikiAdmins. If you are satisfied with the answer above than you don't need to continue reading here. As a NatsWikiAdmin follow the following steps:

Create a new web

Use AddNewWeb to create a new web by filling out this form. You might think of creating different web templates if there's a need for this. By the time of this writing only one exists. You might also help to improve the default settings in the _default web template.

Create an assotiated group

Go to TWikiGroups and create a new NatsWiki group called Group where is the name of the new web. Look at the raw topic text of another group and copy-past it. Also:

• fix the link to the new web
• fix the access rights at ALLOWTOPICCHANGE
• remember to mark this page as uncacheable using CACHEABLE = no

Edit the new webs preferences

Go to the .WebPreferences and

• set the web access rights accordingly.
• set the HTTP_EQUIV_ON_VIEW to <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"/> if needed
• set the web slogan in the variables SITEMAPWHAT used in the SiteMap and SITEMAPUSETO used in the page title when entering the web and in the tooltip when hovering over the navigation items at the left site of the web page.

Edit the Navigation

Go to the TWiki.WebMenu, the main navigation of the NatsWiki and enter a navigation entry for the new web. See the other entries for good examples.

Finaly

Last not least browse thru the new web and see if everything is done correctly. Check that the navigation is working and that the new web is listed in the SiteMap.

You might want to refresh the SiteMap to get a newly rendered version into the cache. See CachingProblems.
